Form Ghana has signed an agreement with Climate Impact Partners, a leading carbon finance organisation, providing exclusive access for corporates with ambitious net-zero goals to access 371,000 high-quality carbon removal credits.

"We are thrilled to partner with Climate Impact Partners to expand the positive impact of our reforestation projects," comments Willem Fourie, CEO of Form Ghana. "This agreement allows us to further our mission of restoring Ghana's forests while generating valuable carbon credits and creating positive social and environmental impacts".

"Form Ghana's reforestation project exemplifies the important role of carbon finance to create new carbon sinks, work with local communities, address the drivers of deforestation, and support biodiversity", says Faith Temba, Africa Sourcing Manager at Climate Impact Partners.

Form Ghana is certified under Verra's Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) and adheres to accredited Sustainable Forest Management principles and criteria. It promotes responsible land management practices and helps enhance food security by reforesting 20,000 hectares of degraded forest reserves in Ghana.

"We have restored nearly 12,000 hectares of indigenous species and established plantations that include teak (Tectona grandis). We have created over 1000 jobs in the process, with 40% of the posts filled by women", says Fourie.

Climate Impact Partners aims to deliver one billion tonnes of CO2 reductions. For 20 years, it has worked with climate-leading businesses to support more than 600 carbon removal and reduction projects in 56 countries.
