Tractor Loader Backhoe (TLB) Operator

Form Ghana Limited, a leading forestry company in Ghana, seeks the expertise of a TLB Operator to join our harvesting team.

Form Ghana was established in 2007 and manages 20,000 hectares of land, of which over 12,000 hectares are reforested with teak and indigenous tree plantations and nature conservation areas.


Job Title: Tractor Loader Backhoe (TLB) Operator

Job Grade: B2

Job Type: Full Time

Job Location: Berekum, Bono Region


Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan infield work activities and the area or location on the plantation as instructed by your superior.
  • Operate the machine and other vehicles entrusted to you with care.
  • Perform daily routine maintenance checks on the vehicle at the beginning of each workday.
  • Safely and skilfully operate a Tractor Loader Backhoe in a forestry environment to;
  • Load materials
  • Spread road surfacing material
  • Cut side drains
  • Clear mitre drains, gutters, sidewalks, and roadways
  • Visually assess digging areas to ensure that areas have been marked before digging or excavating holes.
  • Ensure work is carried out according to Company policies and procedures and high health and safety standard
  • Observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions
  • Report any faults or concerns to the mechanic, senior driver, and Silviculture Forester and assist with mechanical work on the machine when a fault is reported
  • Remain effective at all times, employing hand-eye foot coordination and multitasking skills much as operating equipment while observing signals from a colleague

Eligibility:

  • A driver’s license E is required
  • At least three years experience in operating a TLB
  • A minimum Junior High School (JHS) certificate and ability to read and write
  • Physically and mentally fit for the job
  • Superb knowledge of health and safety practices
  • Ability to identify and react appropriately to hazards
  • Excellent operating skills
  • Dependable
  • Coordination and multitasking skills
  • Ability to follow instructions with minimum supervision
  • Positive attitude and initiative
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good team player
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, perform repetitive tasks and physically demanding work
  • Have the ability to prioritize and adapt a flexible approach to working
  • Willing to work long and irregular hours, weekends, and public holidays as required
  • Must have a valid NHIS card and Ghana Card.
  • Must have an SSNIT Number
