Job Summary: The Senior Forest Accountant oversees site-specific financial and administrative operations, reporting to the Finance & Admin Manager and Forest Manager. Key responsibilities include financial reporting, payroll management, budget monitoring, asset and stock control, intercompany reconciliation, and supervising accounting staff.

ELIGIBILITY
- Minimum Bachelor's qualification in accounting, finance, or a related field (a professional qualification like ACCA, CIMA, or CA is an added advantage).
- Must have a National Service Certificate, National Health Insurance, valid driving license, valid ID/Passport.
- Minimum 5 years experience with strong IFRS knowledge, of which 3 years should be in a similar position/responsibility.
- Knowledge and understanding of Ghana's accounting rules and regulations.
- Understanding of sales contracts, harvesting operations, and financial impact analysis

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Management Accounts Responsibilities:
- Reports to the Finance & Admin. Manager (FAM) and Forest Manager (FM).
- Responsible for site accounts and administrative duties.
- Prepare monthly general/divisional financial reports for management.
- Assist in preparing year-end financial statements for audits.
- Responsible for general Forest payroll computation.
- Responsible for all the duties of site accountants/assistants/stores.
- Responsible for Forest cash and bank accounts.
- Monitor and analyse budget estimates against actual expenditure and alert management of undue variations.
- Review monthly cashbooks and bank statements for Forest Manager's /CEO/FAM approval.
- Manage the general asset register.
- Manage general stock audit and control.
- Intercompany reconciliation report (FI, SFI/FG statement).
- Monitor all system entries by the accountants/procurement and stores.
- Supervise the preparation of bank reconciliation on all Forest bank accounts.
- Implement and operate Forest Management software.
- Responsible for ensuring fleet/equipment and operations expenses are fully captured in the Tally system and reported to FM/FAM weekly. It includes but is not limited to fuel and spare parts issued from the stores.
- Commercial Responsibilities
- Supervise harvesting accountants to ensure accurate data capturing of volumes.
- Ensure accurate filing of sales contracts.
- Send weekly up-to-date sales volumes/value reports to management.
