Commercial Supervisor

Form Ghana Limited, a leader in sustainable forestry and resource management seeks the expertise of a highly organised and dedicated Commercial Supervisor to join our team. This role requires strong commercial acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage forestry-related operations efficiently.

Job Summary: The Commercial Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the sales, transportation, and contract management of roundwood (raw teak poles and logs). The role includes quality assurance, buyer engagement, regulatory compliance, and risk management.

Job Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the sales and transportation of roundwood (raw teak poles and logs).
  • Conducting infield roundwood production checks and audits.
  • Managing contracts and liaising with stakeholders.
  • Engaging with potential buyers through field visits and outreach.
  • Identifying new local and international buyers.
  • Maintaining weekly communication with buyers.
  • Ensuring daily production figures are sent to the buyers.
  • Overseeing timely invoicing and payment processes.
  • Managing the removal and logistics of timber products.
  • Ensuring quality assurance in all commercial activities.
  • Preparing and monitoring the annual sales plan and budget.
  • Overseeing the chain of custody.
  • Assist with the management of all communications and reporting to the Forestry Commission.
  • Handling felling permit applications and related processes.
  • Supporting the carbon marketing and sales process.
  • Identifying and managing commercial risks.
  • Handling Forestry Commission’s Ghana Wood Tracking System (GWTS) system, Plantation Production Certificate (PPC), and Log measurement Conveyance Certificate (LMCC) management.
  • Preparing monthly and quarterly sales and operations reports.

Job Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Forestry, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years in a commercial, sales, or procurement role, preferably within the forestry or timber industry.
  • A valid driver’s, ID/passport and Health Insurance.
  • Knowledge of forestry operations
  • Familiar with forest stewardship principles, chain of custody processes, and government regulations.
  • Financial acumen: Ability to manage sales budgets, invoicing, and financial forecasting.
  • Experience in preparing sales reports, harvesting reports, and compliance documentation.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to liaise with buyers, government agencies, and internal teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
