Job Title: Harvesting Accountant
Job Grade: C3
Job Location: Berekum, Bono Region
Job Summary: The Harvesting Accountant oversees financial transactions, sales reconciliation, data management, and administrative tasks related to harvesting activities. This role ensures accuracy in financial records, compliance with documentation requirements, and efficient communication of production updates.

ELIGIBILITY:
- Minimum Bachelor's qualification in accounting, finance, or business administration
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in the Tally programme, sales reconciliation, payroll processing, and budgeting.
- Must have a National Service Certificate, National Health Insurance, valid driving license, valid ID/Passport.
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial
- Responsible for harvesting and harvesting-related duties in Berekum.
- Print tags based on approved specifications and track printed tags among processing teams.
- Waybills and sales invoice preparations.
- Reconcile sales volumes, which should be checked by the Senior Forest Accountant.
- Update sales volumes sold and processed weekly and submit them to the Senior Forest Accountant and Commercial Manager.
- Send up-to-date daily production figures to management (Harvesting Forester, Harvesting Manager, Plantation Manager, Forest Manager and Commercial Manager).
- Prepare the monthly casuals' payroll for harvesting teams
- Enter sales data and harvesting-related expenses into the Tally accounting system monthly.
- Assist with the preparation of operational harvesting budgets.
- Assist with submitting detailed monthly operational harvesting reports to the Senior Forest Accountant, Harvesting Forester, Harvesting Manager, Plantation Manager, Commercial Manager and Forest manager.
Administration
- File all harvesting-related documentation, including tally sheets, minutes, safety and harvesting vehicle checklists, felling applications and permits per block, at the plantation level (hard copies).
- Keep and update separate files for each buyer.
- Keep and update a register for PPC documents supplied to the Forestry Commission, log measurements and conveyance certificate (LMCC), and the property mark.
- Daily updates of harvesting-related electronic files on Google Drive.
- PSP and 10th-line measurement data per block
- Volume calculations per block for felling permit applications.
- Reconciliation of actual volumes (m³) versus predicted data per block.
- Assist with ordering office supplies for harvesting operations
- Perform any other assigned duties not exceeding your competence and capacities.
KEY COMPETENCIES:
- Strong financial and data management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Tally) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Effective communication and reporting abilities.
- Understanding of harvesting operations and forestry regulations.
